My car (1988 CRX HF) came stock with a Cable VSS (Vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission. The engine is a swap (b16a sir2, y21 transmission w/lsd) and was still using the cable VSS. After I installed the Integra cluster in the CRX, I needed to convert the car to Electric VSS.
I had a few issues during the install:
1 – The Electric VSS mounting hole was not aligned with my transmission case
2 – The Electric VSS had a larger mounting base and did not fit.
But these were easy to fix.

I took measurements for the bolt hole location
I then marked the area where the bolt hole will line up
That’s about where the bolt will go
Here is the top of the vss in place
I then drilled the hole
This is how I planned for it to work
The transmission bell housing is in the way, I need to cut a little
I cut the right side off, so it can now seat into place
