This was a card made for a birthday. I used almost all my art materials possible to make it pretty. The challenging part was the flower but the second time trying it came out as it was supposed to. Enjoy!
These are materials needed:
-Card-stock (your color choice) –
-Colorful paper (decorated or plain) –
-Craft knife –
-Cutting mat –
-Pencil –
-Ruler –
Forgot to include this two important ones.
-Glue –
-Scissors –
Additional optional materials
-Foil confetti –
-Glitter –
-Glitter glue –
1- Have a squared paper with the print on the bottom.
2- Fold the paper diagonally and unfold.
3- Now fold horizontal and vertical and unfold.
4- Follow the horizontal crease and fold halfway.
5- Without unfolding fold vertical.
6- And now follow the vertical crease.
7- With the paper still folded draw a curved line as shown.
8- And cut off the line you drew with scissors.
9- Unfold your flower and it should look like this. You can also decorate with markers, either the center or the whole thing.
10- You will have eight individual creased petals, but cut one off to end up with seven.
11- Add glue to one of the petals near the edge.
12- Now connect the other petal edge with the glued one, to make a smaller and closed flower.
13- To have a better consistency on your flowers trace them with the first one.
14- Do the same steps, 1 though 13, for the other flowers. And you should have seven of them.
This is a lay out on the steps to glue the flower. Also save the clips you cut off from the flowers for later.
This is the layout of the flowers to start gluing them on. Flower 1 will have the edges of flower 6 and 2.
Also make sure to add just a drop of glue on the edges of the petals as shown or your flower won’t open adequately.
Here is how it looks with the two flowers (6 and 2) glued to flower 1.
Add a drop of glue on the 3 pencil circles. Flower 7 goes on top of flower 6,1 and 2.
This is how it should look now. Flower 7 took over leaving the bottom two petals of flowers 6 and 2.
Now add a drop of glue on all the petals. Take flowers 5 and 3 so they can lay on top.
Another 3 drops of glue on the spots indicated and place flower 5 on top.
This is how it will finally look, let it dry for a while and then you can start unfolding it carefully.
Unfold to see your result and it should look like this. Flatten it back.
Get your cardstock and fold it in half. You can use any color you like, white seems a bit more reliable for decorating but any color will do. Place the flower in the middle as shown, add a drop of glue.
Fold the cardstock with the flower inside making sure it does not move position and place something heavy on top.
Unfold cardstock and repeat the same procedure of the drop of glue.
Add some more weight as you close the cardstock.
When the glue has dried open the card slowly and be careful there can be stuck flowers glued to each other.
Trim out your card stock as desired. As you see the card-stock has been cut to size and given a border. Also this can be the step to decorate.
To finalize, you can use the petals to create a flower on the front of the card. Add some decorations and your card has been completed.
