I start by measuring my keyboard and mouse widthI find some scrap wood and mark my cut sizeThen I draw the lines with a squareNow to cut the woodI now have my 2 pieces cut to sizeI made out a design for the back boardNow the pattern has been cut outA quick sanding to clean it upNow for the router to clean up the edgesThis is the edge of the drawerI then hand sanded after using the routerNow to apply the wood stainIts looking really nice!I mark off the size under my desk to help in mounting it correctlyIt was cheaper buying an entire drawer then just the sliders, so I bought the kit… not such a good idea now… lolThe wood drawer is the size of my keyboard, so it can’t fit a mouse, which is why I made my own keyboard/mouse drawerOh no! They shipped me 2 LEFT side rails! That’s not a problem for me, I just need to move the tab overHere is the tab cut, and ready to weld on the other sideI clamped everything in place to weld it.A little spray paint and good as new! After holding the rail in place, I used white out to mark where to drill my holesI clamped the back piece on and drilled the mounting holesThen screws were put inThen the rails are attached to the shelfThen the under-desk L brackets are addedThen its mounted under the desk, using the guide lines I made earlierNow its done, looks and works great!
Its finally finished! That took a lot of persistence!
